I started work on this outreach project with the library service on 11th August 2008
I'm now in week 9 of 26 weeks
The first month I basically read up on all the relevant files and observed the interaction between branches and headquarters and went on a tour meeting most of the staff.
The main focus of the project is looking at the mobile library - so I have been hanging out with Bryan a fair bit. Boy -what a fan club he has around the wimmera & southern mallee. The other aspects of the project are small static libraries including the Birchip school model .
Surveying of staff, service users and non-users has been interesting. People hate surveys - no matter how simple and brief you make them.
I'm currently doing the show circuit with the people from Natimuk A & P society which has been interesting as they are flogging their nude calender. Quote from Cyril Dymke "Its possible to admire god's handy work without it being lustful"
